Affordable Ways to Update Your Home Decor – The Shopping Edit
With coronavirus sweeping the country and many self-isolating or social distancing we’re going to be spending much more time at home in the coming weeks and months. This makes it really important to have nice things to look so it’s more enjoyable and comfortable.
Following on from the blog on how to make your home look expensive on a budget, the shopping edit includes items to keep your house updated and refreshed for Spring – without having to spend too much money. I’m frequently impressed at how little you need to spend to make your home look expensive.
Creating a beautiful home is for me, almost like therapy. I feel happier and calmer when everything is clean, organised and harmonious. Add some fresh flowers (or even faux), refresh tired, worn out cushions for something that makes you smile. Open your windows and let the fresh air and Spring sunshine in!
Hopefully you will love this selection as much as I do. I either own or have gifted all of these. Just like the hotel and restaurant reviews I write, I don’t think you can recommend something if you’ve never used it.
Let me know in the comments below which items you love from my affordable home shopping edit. I will be adding to the list over the coming weeks so check back again soon.

Glass Storage Jars
Lots of shops sell their version of the classic glass kilner storage jars. I use the Ikea ones that start from £1.25. They’re really reasonable and they sell replacement seals if needed.
