Our Epic New Zealand Road Trip – North Island

New Zealand is the ultimate road trip. With so much to see and do, New Zealand had been on my bucket list for ages. We knew we had to make the trip to this adventure playground when we had the rare opportunity to take 4 weeks off work over Christmas. We planned our New Zealand adventure to give us a mix of fine wines, beaches, glacial lakes, vistas and adrenaline pumping sports. The best way to save time in this huge country is to fly into one island and out of the other and hire a car to get around the area in- between. On reflection we wished we had…

The Residence: A ylang-ylang scented gem on the west coast of Mauritius

Source of Luxury Rating: 8/10 A colonial 5 star hotel influenced by the island’s sugar plantation history. Prepare to be surprised by the buffet dining options and spoilt by the butler service. Make the most of complimentary water sports on the mile-long stretch of sandy beach. Overview Owned by the Cenizaro Group, The Residence is located on the west coast of Mauritius in Belle Mare. I’ll be honest, we didn’t spend a lot of time researching hotels in Mauritius before we booked. We asked ourselves a few questions…will it be too hot for Aurelia?…can we go for long walks on the beach?…does it have a la carte dining?….does the airline…

Weekday cooking with flavour – is Gousto the answer?

Source of Luxury Rating: 8/10 I’m a foodie. I love combining ingredients and the excitement of what you get at the end. I find cooking enjoyable and I don’t even hate the shopping part of it. If it can be delivered too, then you’re onto a winner. Riverford, Hello Fresh and Abel & Cole are a few of the food subscription companies that are all striving to provide the perfect balance of convenience, quality and taste in a growing market. These have never really appealed to me through – I don’t want a bunch of random ingredients delivering to me just because they’re in season. I want to eat seasonal…

    Paris House, Woburn

Source of Luxury Rating: 9/10 A fantastic combination of British and Asian flavours. Worth every one of the three AA rosettes. The food quality was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect meal to celebrate our special occasion. I’ve been wanting to try Paris House at Woburn for a while now but needed a suitably special occasion. So hat’s off to Jonathan for organising a surprise meal there for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Having walked the grounds of Woburn Estate a few times in the past I was already in love with the old Tudor building of Paris House. The restaurant has…
